E-Insurance / AIG Travel Assist scam - Are travel insurance companies run by crooks, thieves and con-artists?
Having purchase a policy with E Insurance AIG Travel Assist. I am posting this tread to warn people about the con artist whom are behind this scam so that you don't lose money as I did.I was suppose to fly from A to B with a certain airliner. The arliner did not flew me to point B and told me to claim under my policy. Did I get to point B NO. Was it my fault NO. Was it the Airliner fault YES. What is a a more geniune claim for insurance?However AIG says I have no grounds for a claim Therefore I ask is the travel insurnace industry scammers a bunch of liers, theives and crooks.I lost 400 pounds in this scam via the E Insurance website be warned please
Will travel insurance companies cover my trip to Lanzarote on April 25th?
I booked my flights and villa long before the spanish strike action was annouced. But i didn't purchase any travel insurance.If i purchase travel insurance now will i be covered incase the strike action affects my holiday?Looking at ThomasCook travel insurance this is what they say Any circumstances known prior to the date this insurance is purchased or thetime of booking any trip whichever is the earlier which could reasonably beexpected to give rise to a claim. So does this mean because i've booked my flight and villa before the annoucment i will be covered or not?
Travel insurance company being difficult re payment for operation whilst son's girlfriend on holiday in Mexico?
My son's girlfriend had an op on a broken wrist when they were on holiday in Mexico in September costing 4000. Despite giving all relevant info required by insurance company, they are dragging their heels over payment and have been very unhelpful during phone calls. She has contacted the Insurance Omsbudsman and they have contacted them. A week ago the insurance company said a cheque was in the post, but refused to say for how much. To date it hasn't arrived. Meanwhile, interest continues to accrue on the credit card used to pay the fee. What next please?

My expensive jacket has been stolen in night club but refused claims by my travel insurance company?
I was in a nightclub with friends in Rome, Italy. We were sitting around a table, my jacket was left on my seat. And my friends have reserved this table with barrier to seperate us with other people. During the course of the night I left to go to the bar etc on occassion, being away for periods of no longer than 10 mins at any time.At some point during the night the jacket was stolen and I filed a police report. My insurance company are claiming that because I was absent for however short a time period, the jacket was my responsibiliy.Is this legal and can I challenge appeal this decision? Thank you.

Is my travel insurance company legally bound to extend my policy whilst dealing with my claim?
I am currently in Canada, and I have extended my stay as am still waiting for some papers to come back to me so I can apply for permanent residence. My travel insurance policy runs out on the 27th but I am here for another 6 months. Two days ago I suffered heart problems and investigations are ongoing. As my claim is being dealt with by my current insurance company, are they legally bound to extend my policy incept a new policy as I am unable to get cover elsewhere because a I now have a pre existing condition and b I cannot go back to the UK to incept a new policy as I am unable to leave Canada to go to the UK and then return, under the terms of my visa?am currently in Canada, and I have extended my stay as am still waiting for some papers to come back to me so I can apply for permanent residence. We were not allowed to refuse to insure them especially if they had difficulty finding cover elsewhere. Does this therefore not apply to travel insurance? If not why not?I am in the process of applying my application has not been submitted yet because I need a whole load of paperwork and it must all be submitted at once, not in bits and pieces. I am currently awaiting several pieces of information to complete my application so I can send it hence my visa extension.
